Who We Are.
I’m Lisa Turcotte, NBCAAM-certified equine massage practitioner, board member of NBCAAM, and former Equine Program Administrator at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. For seven years I helped students grow their skills and confidence, and now I’m bringing that same spirit here — joined by many of the wonderful instructors I worked with at Bancroft. Together, we’re creating a welcoming academy where animals are respected, students feel supported, and learning leads to lasting success.

At the Animal Bodywork Academy of New England, our focus is simple: animals come first. Every course we offer is rooted in respect, compassion, and science-backed practice, because we believe bodywork should always honor both the animal’s needs and the student’s growth.
We start with equine massage, then open the door to other modalities and species, always guided by the principle that learning should be clear, supportive, and grounded in real connection. Our goal is to equip students not just with techniques, but with confidence, discernment, and a deep appreciation for the horses and animals who teach us every day.
